The transition from “The Blues” to “The Panthers” was very smooth with the only marked change being change in team colours from navy blue to black, red, white and teal.
The Lavington Panthers Cricket Club’s theme song was also changed to “Good Old Lavington Forever” (sung to the tune of the Collingwood AFL theme song) at this time.

The Lavington Panthers Cricket Club has a long history in cricket in the Albury/Wodonga region dating back to the 1920’s with the club’s first premiership being in 1925/26 in the second grade competition.
Originally known as the Lavington Cricket Club (The Blues) the club was a founding member of the Lavington Sports Club, established in 1976 in partnership with the Lavington Football Club.
In January 2008 we received six crates of material, covering over nine hundred years' history, and the result of many years' diligent accumulation by members of Albury History Society.
